Kate Wargin, L.Ac., MSTOM, Dipl.O.M. is a licensed acupuncturist and board certified herbalist. After her undergraduate studies, she attended a 4 year graduate degree program in Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Health and Sciences in Chicago, Illinois. She received over 3,000 hours of study which included western anatomy, physiology, and pathology, Chinese medical theory, acupuncture, herbal medicine, qi gong, and tui na massage, as well as hands on clinical training where she treated many patients with a wide variety of ailments. While in school, she had the privilege of apprenticing with two of her professors, Marie-France Collin and Mitch Harris, where she not only received over 400 additional clinical hours, but learned advanced acupuncture techniques that are not taught in traditional Chinese medicine schools. She also participated in many offsite clinic shifts, including Chicago Women’s Health Center, Heartland Health Center, where she treated chronic pain patients, and Project Vida, where she treated many HIV patients with comorbid conditions. In addition to her schooling, Kate went on to receive advanced herbal medicine training in Canonical Chinese Medicine, taught by Arnaud Versluys and Stephen Bonzak. While Kate loves to treat all ailments and considers herself a general practitioner, some areas of interest include emotional disorders and trauma, hormonal health (including menopause, menstrual disorders, and fertility), orthopedic and musculoskeletal disorders, pain management, and immune system disorders. Kate is currently studying advanced auriculotherapy under Nadia Volf, MD and her team of instructors in Paris, France.
